Arrowhead Bible Camp

We enjoyed talking with Joel Becker, a program specialist at Arrowhead Bible Camp, a year round overnight camp for individuals with special needs located in Brackney, PA–one hour north of Scranton and 10 minutes south of Binghamton. Founded in 1945, Arrowhead has exciting ministry opportunities year round, especially if you are just graduating high school or in college! All you need is a willingness to serve and a heart for the campers. Learn more about these amazing opportunities whether it’s for employment this summer, Arrowhead’s gap year program, or if you’re interested in learning more about attending camp!

More about Arrowhead Bible Camp

Arrowhead’s Shepherds Camp Program is a residential program for teens & adults with developmental disabilities. Shepherds Camp is offered throughout the whole year with 10 summer weeks and 10 weeks in the fall, winter & spring.  Camp sessions are 1 or 2 weeks long with campers ranging in age from 14 to 96.  Arrowhead even has specialized 1:1 sessions for campers who require individual care.

The James Project is a missions opportunity for groups of any size to serve at camp. James Project groups serve as support staff, work with the program team, and complete projects around the camp grounds. James Project groups could be student ministries, church small groups, discipleship groups, church groups, groups of families, and/or other parachurch ministries.

Live – Learn – Launch

The Launch Initiative (TLI) is a gap year program for graduated high school students. TLI is an intensive discipleship and leadership training program designed to give graduated high school students real life experience in order to launch them into further education, finding a career, or starting a family.

TLI uses the unique ministry context of Arrowhead to provide students with a customized experience that builds character, provides life skills, professional development, leadership training, and spiritual formation. It’s discipleship with all of life wrapped around it.

TLI uses a missions support platform, challenging students to develop a missional mindset, create a network of ministry supporters, and experience lifestyle ministry with the opportunity to complete the program debt free.  TLI provides 30 college credits, delivered onsite and integrated into every aspect of ministry and life at camp. College courses include general education and Bible/Theology classes. TLI has prearranged credit transfer relationships with several institutions, including Cairn University, Cedarville University, Liberty University, Clarks Summit University, and Lancaster Bible College. Students are also able to contact any school of their choice to determine credit transfer.

TLI is a great opportunity for students who are unsure which major to choose, can’t afford college, need to get out of the house and grow up, want to be challenged, or want to explore the experience of full time ministry. Learn more at abclaunch.org.
