January 2026 – Begin the Year with Books
A new year brings fresh routines and a renewed focus! If your 2026 goals include reading more, learning more, or finding daily encouragement, the Good News Library is a great place to start. You’ll find shelves full of uplifting resources, quiet spots to relax, and new titles arriving each month. We’re excited to highlight a few standout additions you’ll find on our shelves this month:
10 Questions About Pain and Suffering by Beth Broom
Written especially for kids and teens (ages 8–14), this book helps young readers understand and navigate the hard things they face. With short chapters and simple, honest answers to big questions, you’ll find biblical wisdom that families can read together or that kids can explore on their own. It’s a gentle, reassuring resource to help kids process pain and suffering with hope.
Whispers at Painswick Court by Julie Klassen
This Regency-era mystery (with a side of romance) follows Anne Loveday. To escape her matchmaking stepmother, she returns to Painswick where she spent many happy summers as a child. Yet, years later, she’s uncovering long-buried secrets within the walls of the elegant English estate. It’s a great read that blends intrigue, charm, and faith, making it perfect for cozy winter evenings.
How Church Could (Literally) Save Your Life by Rebecca McLaughlin
This insightful book shows how real Christian community boosts our health, fosters belonging, and gives us hope. It’s a compelling invitation to rethink the value of gathering with God’s people.
Whether you’re starting a new reading habit or seeking fresh encouragement for the year ahead, we welcome you to the Good News Library. We’re open weekdays, 9:00-4:30. Stop in, browse the shelves, and discover your next great winter read!
