Laura Forrester - Promotions Director

BACKGROUND: In May 2014 I received my BS in Business Administration from Bob Jones University. I loved the time of learning not just academically but also in residence hall leadership and ministry, church ministry, and more. Now I love putting my education and experience to work every day here at WRGN. I love working for a ministry focused on sharing the Gospel with NEPA and beyond.

SALVATION: I grew up in a Christian home, and I have a vague memory of trusting Christ at a young age, but through middle school and high school I often questioned in my heart whether or not I had actually understood the Gospel or my own sinfulness, or wondered if because I didn't have a "date" of salvation maybe I wasn't actually saved. I often prayed for salvation at youth events and conferences, or laid awake at night and asked God to save me then if I hadn't meant it the previous times. It wasn't until my freshman year in college that I put those anxieties at rest. I realized through a convicting chapel message and the song "My Faith Has Found A Resting Place" that my salvation wasn't about me, it was about Christ. It wasn't about how much I knew or the words I said when I prayed, it was not about what I had done but all about Christ and His Cross-work being sufficient to cover my sin. I trusted Christ wholly for my salvation and from that point on I have never questioned or doubted my standing before God because I know that I am accepted not on my own merits but on Christ's. Since that point my faith has been intensely personal.

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSE: Just one?! I would have to say Lamentations 3:20-25. Jeremiah is depressed and overwhelmed by his circumstances and trials, he's worn by life, desperate and hopeless. But when he shifts his focus from his circumstances to the tender and compassionate love of God and meditates on His new morning mercies, he is satisfied with God alone and his soul is filled with hope.

FAVORITE FOOD: Ice cream. Definitely ice cream :)

FAVORITE QUOTES:
"God is most glorified in me when I am most satisfied in Him." John Piper
"Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don't really matter." Francis Chan

HOBBIES: I love to read, cook, create spreadsheets, travel, hang out with family and friends, spend time in the great outdoors camping, kayaking, and ENOing. I love coffee, fresh flowers, tea, candles, ice cream, cozy coffee shops, and dark chocolate.

DREAM VACATION: On my bucket list are Southwest US, Italy, Canada, Northwest US, Alaska, and Africa. I'd also like to try a houseboat vacation someday.
