From Us To You

September 1, 2021

Fear. Despair. Hopelessness. The words themselves can fill the heart and mind with a sense of impending doom. As we look at the situations around us at home and abroad, it could be easy to succumb to the negative thoughts that could easily overwhelm us. So how do we overcome those thoughts without a “stick your head in the sand” mentality?

What an interesting picture that is. It was once thought that the ostrich stuck its head in the sand to avoid enemies, thinking that because they couldn’t see the enemy, the enemy couldn’t see them either. Turns out that’s not the case–they’re just being good parents! Believe it or not, ostriches lay their eggs in a hole, and when they’re sticking their head in the hole, they are actually turning the eggs to keep the chicks inside the eggs evenly warmed.

Our Heavenly Father gives believers guidance that may be difficult for the world to understand. 2 Corinthians 4 is full of wisdom as to how we should act in a world that is hostile to us, and in reaction to the natural struggles that we face in this life. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says that “…we look not to the things that are seen but the things that are unseen.” Why? Because “the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

WRGN daily reminds you to not lose heart! It could be a song that reminds you of God’s grace and mercy, a message that challenges you to live out your faith, or just a humorous or encouraging word from one of our hosts. These are the things that help your “inner self to be renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16).

Can I ask you to do three things today? First, read and meditate on 2 Corinthians 4. Second, listen to WRGN today and be encouraged. Third, share that encouragement with others by sharing the ministry of WRGN. You’ll be glad you did!
