From Us To You – March 2026
There are two barns near our house that I pass on the way to WRGN every morning. They were likely built around the same time, maybe even by the same hands, using the same timber. Today, however, they couldn’t look more different.
The first has succumbed to the elements, transitioning from a proud structure into a pile of weathered wood and stone. The second barn, despite being just as old, remains vibrant and active. I often see cows, chickens, and ducks moving in and out, and the roof was recently replaced.
The difference isn’t the strength of the original wood, but the consistency of the maintenance. A barn doesn’t collapse from one storm; it falls when a small leak in the roof is left unpatched, eventually rotting the beams beneath.
We often recognize this need for upkeep in our physical world, yet we forget to apply it to our souls. Our spiritual lives are much like those barns—built with a purpose but subject to the “weathering” of a broken world. Faith is not a “once and done” event; it is a daily stewardship.
In Matthew 7:24, we are reminded to build our lives on the Rock. But even a firm foundation requires us to mend the roof and strengthen the walls. The music and teaching on WRGN serve as your daily “maintenance check,” providing the encouragement needed to stand strong while the world around us falls into disrepair.
Let’s commit to being the barn that stands—maintained, ready to be used, and full of life.
