From Us to You – July 2025
Conflict is a “tale as old as time,” as they say. From Cain and Abel to the current conflicts around the world, and often in our own country and churches, conflict seems to be the underlying theme. Peace talks are started, then crumble, and we are reminded of the verse from Jeremiah 6:14 that ends with the words “‘…Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace.”
Of course, the main reason peace does not, cannot, and indeed will not come is that none of man’s solutions address the root cause of the conflict. The conflict between selfishness and selflessness, the conflict between good and evil, and the conflict between sin and righteousness. (Romans 14:7)
We have been watching events unfold around the world that should remind us that true and lasting peace only comes in the Kingdom of God. In fact, our responsibility in the Kingdom of God here on earth (the present) is the proclamation of the Gospel, no matter what is going on around us. This means that nothing should stop us from our ultimate goal and mission! The ultimate fulfillment of this mission will be the Kingdom of God to come, where there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. (Revelation 21:4)
The apostle Paul, despite his imprisonment for preaching the gospel, did not stop. Acts 28:31 says that even while he was in chains, he went on “proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.”
Will we continue to do the same? By God’s grace, here at WRGN, we will!
Proclaiming the King,
