From Us To You

April 1, 2022

In this social media age, we share so much of our lives on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter–yet apparently a majority of Americans who profess to be Christians say their faith should be private. A recent Barna survey showed that 56% of Christians feel their spiritual life should be entirely private. Does this feeling line up with what the word of God says?

A quick look at the Scriptures shows us not only the importance of sharing our faith with unbelievers (Matthew 28:19-20) but sharing our faith with believers as well (1 Thessalonians 2:8). We are all familiar with Jesus command in Matthew 28 to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” but the Bible also speaks frequently about living out our faith in community. All of 1 Thessalonians 2 gives us a good picture of the importance of the faith community, but particularly in verse 8 where it says “…we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.”

We are glad that WRGN has been here for you throughout the past two years of fear and uncertainty related to COVID-19. Many of you have expressed how important it was to have WRGN during this time. We realize, however, that Christian radio is not a replacement for Christian community. The body of Christ is an important part of growing in our faith!

Thankful for the body,

Tim Madeira
General Manager
