Come meet Coach Joe Kennedy…
an ‘Average Joe’ who was exercising his right to pray silently after football games on the 50-yard line of the field where he coached high school football in Bremerton, Washington.
At first it was not a big deal, but over time students began to voluntarily join Coach Joe Kennedy during his prayer time. This drew attention and was actually complimented by an opposing team’s head coach. This compliment made the principal nervous that the school could land in legal hot water if Coach Joe continued to pray as he did.
He was told repeatedly by the school district to stop praying on the field, and mounting pressure was being placed upon him. He was told that he could no longer pray on the field at all and if he did, he could lose his job status. He was suspended and eventually received a poor review and put in as a “Do Not Rehire”.
Join us Friday, May 8th at 6:30 PM for a “Watch Party” to see the rest of the story! (doors open at 6 PM)

Audience Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes
- Amazing “based on” truth story. Heartfelt, uplifting and interesting. We need more films like this. ~ Joann
- As a Marine veteran myself, I relate to his drive to fight to finish without giving up…Overall the plot of the movie was excellent, even for those of us who aren’t football enthusiasts, the games were kept to a minimum. It was an excellent choice for a date night with my wife, who also enjoyed it. It was very emotional, especially to watch Joe’s childhood. ~Jim
- As someone who is neither American nor Christian, I didn’t expect to connect so strongly with the subject matter… It offers a revealing look into the prejudice some Christians face in the U.S., which isn’t often explored from an outsider’s perspective. ~Robert
