New Sign For WRGN
After much consideration of the
pros and cons, it has been decided to
extend the number of days that Shar-
A-Thon 2010 will be conducted, Tues-
day through Friday, November 16,
17, 18 and 19. The extra day will
give the station the added time needed
to reach its goal of $148,000.
“For the past four years, we were
unsuccessful in having the needed
operating funds pledged,” said Burl
Updyke, station manager “We are
hopeful that the extra day will allow
us to reach the additional number of
contributors needed to do this,” he
said.
Burl noted that it is not unusual
for listener-supported stations to
extend their Shar-A-Thons, with
some of them choosing to conduct
them several times throughout the
year, sometimes monthly. “This may
be just the extra time needed to
reach the contributors needed.” He
asked for prayer for the staff and
volunteers working the extra day.
“Pray that listeners will give will-
ingl y and generously,” he said.

A new sign was recently erected outside WRGN studios. Shown are Jonathan
Broscious, Ray Cease and Burl Updyke as they lift the sign into place. It invites
listeners to listen on both their radios and the internet.
