Here At The Studios

The past month has been an exciting one at WRGN. As you read this issue of the Radiogram, you will become aware of two new developments that we are very happy about.

Cathy Hawk, of Parryville, was the first WRGN listener to share our excitement. Because WRGN can now be heard on the internet, she is able to listen at work. "I just told my one niece about it, too, so I'm hoping that they're listening," wrote Cathy.

On July 12, we heard from Lori Bishop Peiffer who is listening in Aurora, IL. "Thanks for going online. I‘ve been without you for six years," she said. Kelly Landi said, "It's so great we have this Christian station…love it!" The amazing thing about going online is that WRGN is now heard the world over. On this day, five listeners were online.

Look for a trivia question in this issue. Then go to www.wrgn.com and see if you knew the answer.

It doesn't pay to complain at WRGN. Why? We told our mailman, Evan Jones, that his car horn was too weak. He came the next day with an air horn. We love him.

On "Shirl and You," Denise Golembeski, Scranton, nominated her mother, Arlene Eldridge, of Nanticoke, as "Gorgeous Grandma." Arlene fit the many positive qualifications required to earn the title, "GG." Denise was in tears as she paid tribute to her mother. Hopefully she was listening.

Judy Russell, Scranton, called to say what a wonderful time she had at the Kutztown Fair. She had won the tickets on "Shirl and You." Her family photo, taken at the event, is in this issue.

Carol Klimek, Mountain Top, won tickets to Knoebel’s Amusement Park. Her two grandchildren are very excited about this. Approximately 20 packs of four all-day-ride passes are given away as WRGN's Famous Giveaway for July. Giveaways are conducted every month, but this one is the most famous.

Marion Harker, Hazleton, was a first time caller to "Shirl and You," recently. She called to say thanks for the CD, a gift sent to first time callers. Mark Kovub, 10, of Wilkes Barre, was among many of the young callers taking part in the Giveaway. His family came here from the Ukraine. Mark takes his love of the Lord seriously. He said, "I'd like to play sports, but games and practice are often on Sundays, when I'm in church." He's hoping to take up the study of guitar. There's a prayer request for you.

Alisa Day, Berwick, one of the winners on "Shirl And You," has three daughters, ages 14, 12 and 8. She says today it is hard to raise teenagers.

WRGN’s own Dan Longmore, of Marsh Creek, called with an idea of where to go to enjoy the seashore. He suggests Tom River, N. J. It has a boardwalk, too. Dan's been with WRGN over 20 years, and through the internet continues his work here. "Don't send me music, Shirl," he said.

We could write a book on what happened last month here. Stop in at the studios, you are welcome to visit. You can pick up Shirl's book then.
