WRGN Skate: Everyone Had Fun!

“Everyone was smiling!” said Jonathan Broscious, Operations Manager of WRGN and DJ at the WRGN Skate. Everyone had fun. Well over 200 people turned out on a cold President's day to enjoy the fun, the music, and the people. Tim Madeira and Jonathan Broscious shared the DJ duties. They both enjoy skating so much that neither one wants to DJ the whole time.

The fundraiser for WRGN has been held for many years, and it's always generated a good turn out. Kathy Gibson, of Shicksinny, said that she couldn't skate anymore, but she still had fun just coming and watching all the people. Young and old donned skates and whizzed around the track. Jonathan and Tim played music that can be heard on WRGN. “No one was in danger of hearing anything offensive. Instead, it was all uplifting and honoring to God. And, it was fun!” said Jonathan. Tim Madeira presented a devotional based on the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, accompanied with fantastic skating tricks.

Admission was only $3, with skate rental $2. The prices were purposely low so that entire families could come and enjoy themselves without breaking the family budget. As a result, moms, dads, brothers, and sisters were all on the floor, smiling and rolling away. Some were fast, others were tottering slowly. But all were having fun.

Make sure that you keep your ears peeled to WRGN for details about the next skate, coming up on Columbus Day in October. You definitely don't want to miss out!
