From Us To You

Dear Ones:
Do you ever ask God to show you his goodness? Shirl often does! It’s not unusual for her to pray, “Show me your goodness, today, Lord.” The problem with this request is His goodness comes and those asking for it don’t even notice. Recently, we noticed! In fact we believe the best way to notice and remember is to write down these wonderful happenings.

Here’s a few examples from our lives. At the drug store a man waited for his wife with the car door opened. As we walked by WRGN’s broadcasting was clearly heard. “Thanks, God for your goodness!” When you think of what God is capable of doing, you may think that was a very small thing. What were the chances of us passing by, just at that moment? To us it was encouraging and a sign of God's goodness.

A time when so many people are unemployed and looking for work, one of our sons lost his job. Less than a week later, he was hired. That was God’s goodness! We’ve been praying that one of our little grandsons would learn to obey his parents. And thanks to the goodness of God, he is beginning to do just that.

At WRGN’s recent Book Sale, buyers came from Allentown and many other towns, some of them were listeners we had not met before and two of them bought Shirl’s book, Was that because of God’s goodness? We believe so. Every day God is working in our lives, showing His love for us. Thanks to His goodness we are back from St. Croix after a hectic time making changes to WIVH’s broadcasting. That’s good, and since God is in control of our lives, we’re thankful.

God’s workings in our lives are extraordinary! And oftentimes we miss them. Because of God’s goodness the Friends of WRGN are working hard at the Yard Sale . We can’t wait to see His goodness in action there.

Looking For God’s Goodness,

Burl and Shirley Updyke, WRGN/WIVH
