Keep WRGN's Missions Outreach Strong

The Heath family, of Mon Bijon, St. Croix are Keithly and Deirdre with their daughter, Imani and son, Ian. They and hundreds of other families listen faithfully to the programming on WIVH, “West Indies Voice of Hope.”

The ongoing ministry of Christian radio station, WIVH, is nothing less than a miracle. “Only God’s intervention could be responsible for such a successful missions outreach,” said Burl Updyke manager and founder of WRGN and WIVH. With great enthusiasm he spoke of how it was seventeen years ago that God impressed on his heart a need to reach out beyond Northeastern Pennsylvania to start a station across the seas. “Without the listeners of WRGN this would not have been accomplished. When they were asked to make such an outreach possible they responded affirmatively.

Each year since WIVH’s founding, in 1993, WRGN listeners have pledged support of the ministry for another year, enabling operating costs to be met. Since that time listeners in the West Indies have begun supporting the station and the funds needed from WRGN listeners has become lessened.

Mission Possible will be held again on Thursday, May 6, for the benefit of WIVH. $18,000 a small portion of WIVH‘s budget, will be sought here as WRGN listeners are asked to pledge toward the upcoming> year‘s operation costs. “Join us for Mission Possible, all day on Thursday, May 6," said Burl.
