Please Pray With Us (March 2010)

PRAY: the time is coming when many changes will be made at WIVH, in St. Croix. A new, more powerful transmitter will be moved to a new location. The project is scheduled in May, the same time WRGN staff will travel to WIVH to conduct Shar-AThon. Workers at WIVH and volunteers there will also assist. The result will be great improvement to WIVH’s coverage of the islands. Pray for wisdom, safety and success in this venture and for Burl as he engineers the move.

PRAY: May 6th marks the date of this year’s Mission Possible when WRGN listeners will be asked to support our missions outreach station, WIVH. Pray for its success. A new DVD showing the many aspects of this ministry is available to churches and individuals. Pray that it will help people realize the need to support such a growing ministry.

PRAISE: Listeners continue to show interest in WRGN’s new “Press and Listen Project,” designed for the vision impaired person. Shirl’s Updyke’s new book, “Vision To Reality,” is recorded in MP3 format on a player that is easily operated by a sightless person. Both the recording and player has been made available at no cost and may be picked up at the studios or can be sent via mail.

PRAISE: The “Press and Listen Project” is made possible by listeners who contribute specifically to cover the cost of one of the recorders. One contribution of $30.00 makes one of these available to a sightless person. It is also ideal for those who prefer to listen rather than read.

PRAISE: Don’t miss the encouraging stories contained in this issue of the Radiogram Many of them relay the sincerity of listeners who offer help in many ways to keep listenersupported WRGN on the air.

PRAY: The number of items lining the shelves of the Good News Library nears 15,000. This means we’re again “bursting at the seams,” and it becomes necessary to eliminate some of the books and to conduct a book sale. Pray for wisdom in sorting items and for helpers.

PRAISE: Prayer requests continue to be received here. Pray for the man recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. “Whenever work, loneliness or just plain old-life gets me down WRGN never fails to give me hope, The value of the station is inestimable.” he wrote.

PRAISE: Billy, an inmate at SCI, Dallas, wrote asking how to contact one of WRGN’s programmers. He wrote that WRGN has been a great encouragement to him and many others there. Pray for him as he remains incarcerated.

PRAY: for the staffs at WRGN and WIVH, for good health and wisdom as they seek to honor God in all that is done in both ministries.

PRAY: for Jon and Tiff Bowman serving as operators of WIVH in the Virgin Islands. Their reports of the work there express a joy that only serving God can bring. They are in daily contact with listeners and are eager to reach those not aware of Christian broadcasting there. Their schedules are busy and in addition they are home schooling their three children.

PRAY: the Bowmans have produced a DVD of the ministry. For a copy call 1-800-245-3688.
